LUC Names Keith M. Champagne As VP for DSD

Keith M. Champagne, PhD, will be joining the University as Vice President for Student Development. Dr. Champagne will work closely with the entire Loyola community to ensure Loyola is and remains an inclusive community grounded in Jesuit ideals that puts students first. Finals Breakfast

This finals week tradition provides students with a chance to take a study break, refuel, and catch up with friends before the last stretch of final exams. The Lake Shore Campus finals breakfast will be in the Damen Student Center Dining Hall on Wednesday, December 15 from 7–10 p.m. Please note that registration through LUCommunity is required to attend the Lake Shore Campus finals breakfast. Supporting Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi American (APIDA) Ramblers

Like most of you, we in the Office of the Dean of Students are saddened and outraged by the recent increase in anti-Asian violence across the country. To our Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi American (APIDA) student community, please know you are not alone. We are here for and with you. The voices of those who work toward dividing us have been loud in recent years but we as Ramblers have a long history of standing together and being people for others. In Support of Black Students

In response to President Jo Ann Rooney's call for action and positive change, this past June a coalition of Loyola student organizations led by the Black Cultural Center (BCC) shared a document titled "In Support of Black Students: 2020 Suggestions and Recommendations." Since receiving the list of suggestions and recommendations, members of the Loyola community, including students, administrators, faculty, and staff, have engaged in numerous meetings and conversations through the summer that will continue into the school year. If you know of a Loyola student experiencing a crisis, such as family emergencies, financial hardship, food/housing insecurities, and/or mental health concerns, to name some, there are many ways to help. Submit a referral through the Center for Student Assistance and Advocacy (CSAA), led by the Office of the Dean of Students. Although this tragedy impacts the Loyola community at large, it is important to recognize that, for some, the pain and anger runs proportionately deeper. My heart goes out to Black/African American communities who have suffered another loss at the hands of police brutality.
